Fares Abu Hamza, head of the ministry’s emergency unit in northern Gaza, confirmed the death toll and said dozens were injured. He said nearby Kamal Adwan Hospital was struggling to treat the casualties. Hamza said that many women and children were in critical condition. The army said it targeted the command center operated by both extremist groups inside the school. It listed the names of dozens of people it described as extremists who were present at the time of the attack.
