AAP-Congress form committee to increase coordination in Lok Sabha election campaign in Delhi

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress have formed a coordination committee for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi and announced coordinators for each of the seven parliamentary constituencies here.

Both the parties have done this to ensure that the election campaign is conducted in a smooth and effective manner. Under the seat-sharing arrangement between the two constituents of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (India), the Congress has fielded candidates on three of the seven seats.

Aam Aadmi Party is contesting on the remaining four seats. Voting is to be held on May 25 in the sixth round of seven-phase elections in the national capital Delhi. AAP said in a statement that with the aim of starting the grassroots election campaign coordination with the Congress for the seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi, AAP’s National General Secretary (Organization) and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak have formed a coordination committee, which will include: The entire responsibility has been handed over to Durgesh Pathak.

Durgesh Pathak represents Rajendra Nagar assembly seat. Delhi Congress communications department chairman and former MLA Anil Bhardwaj said, “Both the Congress and AAP will announce one observer for each of the seven Delhi Lok Sabha constituencies to ensure that there is coordination between the leaders and workers of the parties.” The election campaign should be conducted in a smooth and effective manner.”

He said, “There will be a meeting of the coordination committee on Friday to prepare the outline for the joint campaign of ‘India’ on all the seven seats. The programs will include public meetings and road shows in all seven constituencies jointly organized by the ‘India’ alliance.” The decision to form a coordination committee was taken in the meeting of senior leaders of both the parties on Tuesday.
