Adani Group said in its statement, We want to clarify that Adani Group or its company or any subsidiary has not issued any press release regarding Kenya. Adani Group has requested the media and influential people to verify the facts and sources before publishing any article or news on Adani Group.

Gautam Adani Group, the country’s second richest industrialist, has warned of strict legal action against those spreading fake news about the group’s presence in Kenya. Adani Group said that neither his group nor any of its companies or subsidiaries have issued any press statement related to their ongoing projects and presence in Kenya. Adani Group spokesperson claimed that some vested interests with malicious intent are circulating several fraudulent press releases related to the group’s presence in Kenya, one of which is titled Adani Group condemns baseless allegations and threats.

It is worth noting that hundreds of employees at Kenya’s largest international port protested against the agreement between their government and India’s Adani Group. Due to this, the movement of flights came to a halt and hundreds of passengers were stranded at the airport. In fact, the Adani Group has made a deal with the government there to modernize Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Another runway and terminal are to be built in it. In return, the Adani Group will run this airport for 30 years. The Kenya Aviation Workers Union has gone on strike in protest against this deal.
