With the win in the final, India has ended its 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. After the Rohit Sharma-led side won the T20 World Cup trophy, the BCCI announced a prize money of Rs 125 crore for the Indian team. Indian captain Rohit Sharma was handed a cheque for Rs 125 crore during the victory celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, July 4.

At the same time, a report published in the Indian Express on Monday, July 8, has now given information about how much prize money each cricketer will get. All 15 members of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup team will get Rs 5 crore each, and head coach Rahul Dravid will get Rs 2.50 crore. It is worth noting that a total of 12 players have got a chance to play in the eight matches of T20 World Cup 2024 for India, but all 15 members will get Rs 5 crore each.

It is learned that the rest of India’s coaching staff, which includes batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey and fielding coach T Dilip, will also receive Rs 2.50 crore each and the selection committee members, including chief selector Ajit Agarkar, will be given Rs 1 crore. While four players – Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan and Rinku Singh – who travelled to the USA and West Indies as reserves, will also receive Rs 1 crore each as reward money. The rest of India’s coaching staff – three physiotherapists, three throwdown specialists, two masseurs, and a strength and conditioning coach – will receive Rs 2 crore each.

A total of 42 people were part of the Indian contingent that travelled to West Indies and USA for the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup. Team India’s video analyst, BCCI staff members travelling with the team, media officials and the team’s logistics manager will also be rewarded. “The players and support staff have been informed about the reward money they will receive from the BCCI and we have asked everyone to submit the bills,” the Indian Express quoted a BCCI source as saying.
