After the victory parade, Team India was honored at Wankhede, BCCI gave a sum of Rs 125 crore

On Thursday evening, a huge crowd gathered in Mumbai to welcome the T20 World Cup winning Indian team in the victory parade. This victory parade of Team India started at 5 pm from the National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point and ended at the Wankhede Stadium.

Before that, the team led by Rohit Sharma reached Mumbai late from New Delhi. Due to which the parade could start only after 7:30. Thousands of cricket lovers reached Marine Drive to witness this victory procession. The Indian team reached New Delhi from Barbados in the morning where they met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After this, the team could leave for Mumbai only at 3:42 in the afternoon. Wankhede Stadium was opened for the fans and within a few minutes the stadium was packed. The gate of the stadium was closed at around 5 pm and many fans kept waiting outside. The Indian team reached Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by Vistara flight, where it was given a ‘water salute’.

Meanwhile, the DJ entertained with all kinds of songs and for once, it felt like a rain-dance party was going on at the Wankhede. The stadium speakers started playing the party hit To Brazil by the Vengaboys and the country’s unofficial sports anthem Chak De India. Soon after, the atmosphere at the Wankhede came alive with the traditional slogans of Sachin…Sachin and Mumbaicha Raja, Rohit Sharma! and India…India.

Team India’s vice-captain Hardik Pandya reached Wankhede Stadium with the World Trophy. Rohit Sharma was ahead of him. In the end, BCCI secretary and president Roger Binny honored Team India with a sum of 125 crores.
