Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over as Vice Chief of the Air Force

New Delhi. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (DCAS) of the Indian Air Force on Sunday. The Defense Ministry gave this information. After assuming charge at the Air Force Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan), the Air Marshal paid tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial here. Air Marshal Tejinder, an alumnus of the National Defense Academy, was commissioned into the fighter branch of the Indian Air Force on 13 June 1987.
He is a qualified Category ‘A’ flying instructor with over 4,500 hours of flying experience and an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College (NDC). He has commanded a fighter squadron, a radar station, a major fighter base and was Air Officer Commanding Jammu and Kashmir, the ministry said in a statement.

“His various staff appointments include Operational Staff at Command Headquarters, Air Commodore (Personnel Officer-1) at Air Headquarters, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, Financial (Planning) at HQ IDS, Air Commodore (Aerospace Security), Air Staff Operations (Offensive) and ACAS Operations (Strategy) at Air Headquarters,” the statement said.
Prior to his current appointment, he was the Senior Air Staff Officer at the Eastern Air Command Headquarters of the Indian Air Force, Shillong, Meghalaya. In recognition of his commendable services, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in 2007 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 by the President.
In a separate statement, the Defence Ministry said Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit assumed charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Air Command. It said Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on 6 December 1986. The Air Force officer is an experimental test pilot and a qualified flight instructor with over 3300 hours of flying experience on various types of aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

The statement said that he is an alumnus of the prestigious National Defense Academy, Defense Services Staff College (Bangladesh) and National Defense College. He has actively participated in many operations and exercises like ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ and ‘Operation Rakshak’. It said that during his illustrious career spanning over 37 years, the Air Force officer has contributed in many important field and staff appointments.
As a Commanding Officer, he commanded a Squadron of the IAF equipped with the state-of-the-art Mirage aircraft and later commanded a frontline ‘Fighter Air Base’ in the Western Sector and a pioneer ‘Fighter Training Base’ in the Southern Sector. In recognition of his meritorious services, he has been awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vayu Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal by the President.
