Two days ago, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court with certain conditions in the excise policy ‘scam’ case, after which he reached the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters for the first time on Sunday. Here he addressed the ‘AAP’ workers and fiercely targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party. Along with this, he made a big announcement. Kejriwal made a big announcement and said that after 2 days from today, he will resign from the post of Chief Minister.
Announcing his resignation, Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘I will resign from the post of Chief Minister 2 days from today. Now, until the people of Delhi give their verdict, I will not sit on the Chief Minister’s chair. I will go among the people, go to every street, go to every house and until I get the verdict of the people, I will not sit on the Chief Minister’s chair. I want to give Agnipariksha (fire test) after coming out of jail.’
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “…I am going to resign from the post of Chief Minister after 2 days. The Delhi Chief Minister said, ‘Some people say that we will not be able to work due to the restrictions imposed by the Supreme Court. Even they have left no stone unturned in imposing restrictions on us. If you think that I am honest, then vote for me in large numbers. I will sit on the Chief Minister’s chair only after being elected. Elections are to be held in February. I demand that elections be held along with Maharashtra elections in November. By the time the elections are held, there will be another Chief Minister from the party. There will be a meeting of MLAs in the next 2-3 days, in which a decision will be taken on the next Chief Minister.’
The Delhi Chief Minister said, ‘They (BJP) have made another new formula. Wherever they lose elections, they file fake cases against the Chief Minister and arrest him and topple his government. They have filed cases against Siddaramaiah, Pinarayi Vijayan, Mamta Didi. They do not spare even one Chief Minister of the opposition. They file fake cases against everyone and put them in jail and topple the government.’

Kejriwal said, ‘I want to request all the non-BJP chief ministers of the country with folded hands that if the Prime Minister puts you in jail by filing a fake case, then do not resign. Do not resign under any circumstances, run the government from jail. It is not that we are greedy for power because our constitution is important for us, it is important to save democracy. You will put a government elected with such a huge majority in jail and ask it to resign.’
Speaking on the controversy over flag hoisting on 15 August, Kejriwal said, ‘I read a book, Bhagat Singh’s Jail Diary. When Bhagat Singh was in jail, he wrote many articles, all of which are in this book. He wrote many letters to his comrades and the British delivered all the letters. I had written a letter to LG from jail that Atishi should be allowed to hoist the flag on Independence Day. That letter was not delivered and I was instructed that if you write a letter a second time, you will not be allowed to meet your family. Even the British had not thought that after 95 years in independent India, a more cruel and tyrannical ruler than the British would come to the country, when Sandeep Pathak came to meet me and talked about politics, he was blacklisted. When Bhagat Singh was hanged, he had not even dreamt that there would be such an India, after 95 years, a cruel and tyrannical government would come to the country that would leave the British behind.’
