New Delhi. Financial technology companies… BharatPe Group and PhonePe Group have amicably resolved all long-standing legal disputes related to the use of trademarks with the suffix ‘Pe’. Both the companies gave this information in a joint statement. According to the statement, BharatPe and PhonePe have been involved in long-standing legal disputes in several courts during the last five years. This agreement will end all open judicial proceedings. The statement said that BharatPe and PhonePe have amicably resolved all long-standing trademark disputes.

According to the statement, as a next step, the parties have already taken steps to withdraw all oppositions against each other in the trademark registry, which will help them proceed with the registration of their respective trademarks. Both organisations will take other necessary steps to comply with the obligations under the agreement in respect of all matters before the Delhi High Court and the Mumbai High Court. Sameer Nigam, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PhonePe, said, “I am glad that we have reached an amicable resolution to this matter. This outcome will benefit both companies to move forward and focus our collective energies on growing the country’s financial technology industry as a whole.”
