In a letter to Democrat lawmakers, Joe Biden ruled out abandoning his presidential candidacy and called for an “end to the drama” within the party that has divided Democrat leaders over whether Biden should stay in the race.

Washington: President Joe Biden ruled out quitting his presidential nomination in a letter to Democrat lawmakers and called for an “end to the drama” within the party that has divided Democrat leaders over whether Biden should stay in the race. “The question of how to move forward has been hotly debated over the past week, and it is time to put an end to it,” Biden wrote in a two-page letter on Monday, stressing that the party’s only job is to defeat Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in November.

Biden said in the letter that 119 days are left for the general election. He said, “Weak resolve or lack of clarity about the campaign ahead will only help Trump and harm us. Now is the time to come together, move forward as a unified party and defeat Donald Trump.” Differences in the Democratic Party are deepening over President Joe Biden’s candidacy and many MPs are becoming vocal that Biden should withdraw from the presidential candidate race. On the other hand, some of Biden’s most staunch supporters are insisting that there is no better candidate than Biden to defeat Trump.
