Five soldiers died in Ladakh

Five army personnel were killed while trying to cross the Shyok river with a tank in eastern Ladakh. Officials said that the soldiers were trying to cross the river when the accident happened. The Army’s ‘Fire and Fury’ Corps said that after a military training exercise on the night of June 28, 2024, an army tank got stuck due to sudden rise in water level in the Shyok river near Saser Brangsa in eastern Ladakh. Rescue teams reached the spot, but due to strong currents and high water level, the rescue operation could not be successful and the crew members of the tank lost their lives.
