Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has granted regular bail to TMC’s Anubrata Mandal in the money laundering case related to the West Bengal cattle smuggling scam. Mandal was accused of being involved in illegal activities related to cattle smuggling on the India-Bangladesh border. Earlier, Anubrata had got bail in the CBI case> This time he has got bail in the ED case as well. According to court sources, this time he is going to be released from Tihar Jail. As a result, he will return to Birbhum before Kesht Puja. A few days ago, his daughter Sukanya Mandal also got bail.
On August 11, 2022, the CBI arrested Anuvrat in the cow smuggling case. Later in 2023, the ED arrested his daughter in that case. After this, the father and daughter were lodged in Tihar Jail. They were interrogated face to face. Recently, Anuvrat got bail from the Supreme Court in the case registered by the CBI. But he had to stay in jail in the ED case. On Friday, he also got bail in that case.
Two years ago, the CBI arrested Anuvrat from his house in Neechupatti area of Birbhum. Initially, he was kept in Asansol Correctional Facility. Later, Kest was taken to Tihar Jail. He was imprisoned in Tihar since then. The EDO arrested him in the same case in November of the same year.
