Bihar constable recruitment exam question paper leak case: four more accused arrested

The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police arrested four more accused in the constable recruitment exam question paper leak case in the state and sent them to judicial custody on Thursday. Police gave this information.

Of the four arrested accused, three are from the neighboring state of West Bengal. Advertisement number-01/2023 of the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment), Bihar, Patna, in which 21,391 vacant posts of constable were to be filled. For this, the examination was conducted in two shifts on October 1, 2023. Apart from this, this examination was also to be conducted on October 7, 2023 and October 15, 2023.

A total of 18 lakh candidates had filled the form for this examination, but several hours before the scheduled time of commencement of the examination in both the shifts of the examination held on October 1, 2023, the answer key of the examination went viral on various social media platforms, as a result of which, the said examination was canceled on October 2, 2023 and the examinations to be held on October 7, 2023 and October 15, 2023 were postponed.

Later, the responsibility of investigating this case was handed over to the EOU. The EOU arrested four accused in case number 16/2023 related to this matter on June 26, 2024 and sent them to judicial custody on June 27, 2024.

According to a press release issued by the EOU on Thursday, the accused who have been sent to judicial custody include Kaushik Kumar Kar, Saurabh Bandopadhyay, Suman Biswas and Sanjay Das.
