BJP’s retort on Lalu’s statement, Nityanand Rai said- country trusts PM Modi, doesn’t want jungle raj

YEARS

Union Minister Nityanand Rai has hit back at Lalu Yadav’s statement. Rai said that by making PM Modi the Prime Minister for the third time, the people of the country and Bihar have expressed their wish that PM Modi is a true son of India and can take the country forward.

RJD president Lalu Yadav on Friday claimed that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre was “weak” and could “fall” within a month, a remark which was quickly rejected by the BJP, which said the ailing septuagenarian was “delusional” and the recent general elections were a vindication of people’s faith in Modi’s leadership. Prasad made the prediction at an event to mark 28 years of his party, which he founded after splitting the Janata Dal.

Union Minister Nityanand Rai has hit back at Lalu Yadav’s statement. Rai said that by making PM Modi the Prime Minister for the third time, the people of the country and Bihar have expressed their wish that PM Modi is a true son of India and can take the country forward. He said that the people of Bihar believe in PM Modi, Nitish Kumar, NDA-BJP, they do not want jungle raj. Union Minister Nityanand Rai, using the colloquial Hindi phrase “Mungeri Lal ke haseen sapne”, accused the RJD supremo of hallucination.

However, sources in both the RJD and the NDA, who spoke on condition of anonymity, were unanimous in the opinion that Prasad had cleverly tried to fish in troubled waters. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP fell short of a majority and with the help of allies like the JD(U), a new government was formed, led by Nitish Kumar, who has been in and out of the NDA more than once in the past decade.
