Under a CBI court order, Indrani Mukherjee, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, was allowed to travel to Spain and the United Kingdom for ten days.

The Bombay High Court canceled the order of the special court granting permission to Indrani Mukherjee, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, to go abroad. The Bombay High Court has overturned the order of the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court. Under a CBI court order, Indrani Mukherjee, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, was allowed to travel to Spain and the United Kingdom for ten days. Justice Shyam C Chandak delivered the verdict in response to CBI’s petition challenging the special court’s decision. The agency argued that if Mukherjee was allowed to leave India then Mukherjee, a British citizen, could not return to face trial.

Mukherjee is currently facing trial along with her two ex-husbands, former media baron Peter Mukherjee and Sanjeev Khanna, for the alleged murder of her daughter Sheena Bora. In his original application Mukherjee had sought permission to travel to England and Spain, citing his British nationality, where he claimed he had a bank account and property which required him to update his will. He said that he needed to travel to Spain for the execution of documents regarding his account at Banco Sabadell.

He claimed that There is a need to update their will regarding their property in Spain which requires them to appear in front of a notary in person.
