Over 24,000 members of the Indian diaspora have signed up to attend a mega community event that will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here next month. The ‘Modi and US Progress Together’ event will be held on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which has a capacity of 15,000. The Indo-American Community of the USA (IACU) on Tuesday said over 24,000 Indian-Americans have signed up to attend the mega event, a community gathering that will be addressed by Modi.

A key organiser of the event said, “We are committed to ensuring that as many people as possible attend this historic event.” IACU said that the aim of the Modi and US event is to organize an important gathering celebrating the diversity of the Indian-American community. Apart from Prime Minister Modi’s speech, the event will also have cultural performances and prominent Indian-Americans from the fields of industry, science, entertainment and art will participate in it.
