Users using dating apps need to be cautious. Actually, a shocking case has come to light from Mumbai, where a woman was cheated of lakhs of rupees by the online dating site Tinder. A woman living in Mumbai uses the Tinder app. Meanwhile, she came in contact with a man named Advait in the month of August. A conversation started between the two and she started trusting that person.
Let us tell you that the woman is an art director by profession. After this, the accused person Advait tells the woman that he is abroad and will come to Mumbai on 16th September and meet her. After this, the date of 16th September comes and then the woman gets a call.
The person calling the woman introduces himself as a customs officer of Delhi airport. He says that he has caught Advait with a large amount of Euro at Delhi airport and money has to be deposited to release him.
After which the woman gets worried and she immediately transfers Rs 3,37000 through UPI. After sending the money, the woman gets a call again and is asked to pay another Rs 4.99 lakh. This time too the woman wants to transfer the money but she decides to go to the bank and transfer the money from there.
When the bank employee asked the woman the reason for transferring the money, she told the whole story. After this, the bank employees warned the woman about cyber fraud. When the woman realized this, she immediately lodged a complaint at the Versova police station. After which the police registered a case of fraud against unknown people.
