Mann’s health concerns came after a busy day in the national capital, where Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Delhi chief minister after being released from Tihar jail.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was hospitalised on Tuesday after his health deteriorated. Initially, he was taken to a medical facility in Chandigarh but was later shifted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi. The Punjab chief minister fell ill while deboarding a plane at the Chandigarh airport on his return from Delhi, where he had spent the day attending key political developments. However, there has been no official update on Mann’s condition from the hospital authorities.
Mann’s health concerns came after a busy day in the national capital, where Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Delhi chief minister after being released from Tihar jail. Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court in a case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. His resignation came after AAP leader Atishi staked claim to form a new government in Delhi.
Bhagwant Mann on Sunday termed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to resign as revolutionary and called it a sign of his honesty and commitment towards the people. He said, “Until people give him a ‘certificate of honesty’, he will not sit on the Chief Minister’s chair.” Mann said in a post on the social media platform X, “Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has announced his resignation from the post of Delhi Chief Minister after two days… He has also appealed to the people of Delhi that if he is honest, then they should vote for him in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections… Only an honest and public-spirited leader can say this.”
