New Delhi. Three people have been arrested for cheating people by luring them with the promise of providing confirmed railway tickets. There are allegations that he used to cheat the people of Bihar on the pretext of getting railway tickets confirmed by posing as Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE). Officials gave this information on Friday. He said that the accused have been identified as Santosh (27), Ashutosh (26) and Afroz Ansari (37), residents of Bihar.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Bhatia said, these accused, posing as TTEs, cheated innocent people, especially railway passengers from Bihar, in the name of getting their railway tickets confirmed and took cash, debit cards and other valuables. The officer said that on April 29, information was received about an accused. This accused named Santosh was caught by laying a trap near IFFCO Chowk in Gurgaon.

The officer said, during interrogation, he confessed that he, along with his two associates Rakesh Paswan and Afroz, had duped a person while traveling in the metro on the pretext of getting his railway ticket confirmed. They (accused) took him to various places near AIIMS and took away all his belongings, the officer said. Later, on his request, Santosh and Afroz were caught from Dabri, Delhi. He said that he was involved in a total of 11 cases. Cases of fraud and theft have been registered in various police stations of Delhi.
