Elon Musk clashed with Kamala Harris over Trump, said- lying doesn’t work anymore

Tesla CEO and owner of social media platform X, Elon Musk has targeted Kamala Harris over her social post about Trump. Harris wrote in a post that Trump would ban abortion across the country and promised to do everything to stop it and restore women’s reproductive system.

Trump last week refused to sign a federal abortion ban after months of messages and speculation, saying he believed abortion limits should be left to the states. “My view now is that we have abortion where everybody wants it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine that by vote or legislation or maybe both,” he said on his Truth social platform. And whatever they decide should be the law of the land. Trump has taken credit for the US Supreme Court’s decision to end the Roe v Wade precedent, which granted a constitutional right to abortion.

Musk then commented on Harris’ post, saying that Trump had clearly said in the presidential debate that he would not do this. Later, he attached a screenshot of his post receiving community notes in a separate post. Musk sarcastically said that when will politicians, or at least the interns running their accounts, learn that lying on this platform will no longer work?

Abortion has emerged as one of the most pressing issues ahead of the US presidential election. Republican-led states have launched a wave of new restrictions in the wake of the overturning of Roe v Wade in 2022. More than a dozen GOP-controlled states have banned abortion altogether, while others have outlawed the procedure on a rapidly looming timeline.
