Next year in July 2025, a test match will be played between India and England at Lord’s. For the first three days of this test, the Marylebone Cricket Club has fixed the minimum ticket price at 90 euros i.e. about Rs 8400. Which is being criticized a lot. The price of tickets for the main stands is Rs 11,200 to Rs 16,330.
Critics say that during the Lord’s Test against Sri Lanka this year, the ticket prices for some of the main stands were fixed at Rs 10,730 to Rs 13065, due to which many stands remained empty. Only 9000 tickets were sold to watch the fourth day’s play, which was less than one-third of the stadium’s capacity.
However, following criticism, the MCC had to hike the post-tea ticket prices to Rs 1,400 and Rs 470 for Under-16s, but by then it was too late.
After the match, England captain Ollie Pope said that it was a good day of the Test match but it was unfortunate that the stadium was not full.
MCC Chief Executive and Secretary Guy Lavender said that we will re-evaluate the ticket pricing policy for the fourth day. There will be a provision of tickets ranging from Rs 8400 to Rs 14000 for the fourth day of play of the match against India.
MCC argues that India is the second biggest guest team after Australia in the English Test calendar. Due to this, ticket prices may be high. The ticket price for the WTC Final 2025 to be held at Lord’s has also been fixed from Rs 6530 to Rs 12130.
