He expressed his grief over not being able to attend the funeral of his employee Anna Sebastian Perayil. It is noteworthy that Anna Sebastian Perayil died in July this year. After Perayil’s death, her mother said that her daughter died due to stress. Her mother blamed the company and said that her daughter died due to excessive workload.
According to the mother of the deceased Ana Sebastian Perayil, despite being a young employee of the company, her daughter was harmed physically, emotionally and mentally. Let us tell you that Ana Sebastian Perayil was a CA by profession. She passed the Chartered Accountant (CA) exam in 2023. After passing this exam, she was working in EY’s Pune office.
After Perayil’s death, his family has raised many questions. After the questions raised by Perayil’s mother, the government also intervened in this matter. The government says that it will investigate the working environment of EY. Memani wrote on the professional platform LinkedIn that he is “deeply saddened” by his death and as a father, he can only imagine the grief of the family.
He wrote, “I have expressed my deepest condolences to the family, although no one can fill this void in their lives. I am very sorry that we could not attend Ana’s funeral. This is completely different from our culture. This has never happened before; nor will it ever happen again. ” After the incident started being discussed on social media, he said that he is aware that people have made some comments on EY’s practices. Memani said, “It has always been important for us to create a healthy workplace and we give utmost importance to the well-being of our people.
