Federer is the tennis player I would love to bat with: Tendulkar

New Delhi: Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has picked Roger Federer as the tennis player he would love to bat with. Tendulkar has been attending Wimbledon for years and met Federer at Centre Court on Saturday. “One tennis player I would love to bat with is Roger because he has a connection with cricket as well,” Tendulkar told Star Sports.

He said, “His mother is from South Africa and he loves cricket. When we sit together, we talk a lot about cricket and not just tennis, so he will be Roger the tennis player.” Tendulkar also said that among cricketers, he loved playing tennis with late Australian spinner Shane Warne and Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and both of them could have become the best doubles partners.

He said, “There are two strong contenders. Unfortunately we lost Shane Warne two years ago but I loved playing tennis with Warne and we also played tennis together in London. The other is Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh who has now retired. ” Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri feels that with the era of Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal coming to an end, Yannick Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are the stars of the future. He said, “The era of Djokovic, Federer, Nadal is ending or has already ended and it will be Sinner and Alcaraz who will carry forward their legacy.
