Flood wreaks havoc in Manipur, 86 areas submerged in water

Cyclone Remal is causing great havoc in the northeastern states. The effect of Remal is being seen in all the states of the northeast. This cyclone has caused great devastation in Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam and Meghalaya. People in Imphal, Manipur have been greatly affected due to the floods. The Imphal river has flooded here and the water is overflowing and people are facing a lot of trouble. Due to the flood water, water has entered the houses located in the low-lying areas. People have taken shelter in the community hall to stay safe.

Officials say that the Nambol river in Imphal is in spate. Due to the storm, it is raining continuously, due to which there is a flood situation in 86 places. Due to the overflowing of the river in Manipur, many districts have been flooded. Many areas have been flooded. It is raining continuously in Imphal, due to which Khuman Lampak, Nagaram, Sagolband, Uripok, Kesamthong and Paona areas of West District are flooded.

At the same time, the havoc of the cyclone is also being seen in Assam. The water level of many rivers has increased here. Due to the rise in water level, many districts have been flooded. Many people have been affected due to the flood. According to officials, Nagaon, Hailakandi, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, Cachar, Hojai, Golaghat and West Karbi Anglong have been affected by the flood.

Officials said landslides were reported in 11 villages of Dima Hasao, three in Cachar and one in Hailakandi. They said heavy erosion was also reported in Silchar and Udharbond in Cachar district. The Barak river and its tributaries Longai, Kushiyara, Singla and Katakhal are flowing above the danger mark at several places in Karimganj, Cachar and Hailakandi districts of Barak Valley. They said four embankments were also damaged in Karimganj, where the maximum number of 26,430 people are affected by the floods. A total of 8,351 people in Cachar and 6,227 in Hailakandi are affected by the floods.
