Gautam Adani succeeds in beating Mukesh Ambani in Hurun list, becomes the richest Indian

There is good news for Gautam Adani. Gautam Adani has become the richest Indian by surpassing Mukesh Ambani in the Hurun list. According to the recently released Hurun India Rich List report, billionaire Gautam Adani has added ₹5,65,503 crores to his total wealth. For this, it has increased by 95% to ₹11.6 lakh crores compared to last year.Despite the allegations in the Hindenburg report, Gautam Adani has achieved the highest wealth growth among India’s top 10 in the last five years.
 
The list noted that India created a new billionaire every 5 days last year, as Anas Rahman Junaid, founder and chief researcher of Hurun India, said, “India is emerging as Asia’s wealth creation engine! While China saw a 25% decline in the number of billionaires, India experienced a 29% growth, reaching a record 334 billionaires.”
 
The youngest entrant on the 2024 Hurun India Rich List is Zepto’s Kaivalya Vohra (21) and his co-founder Adit Palicha, 22, is the second youngest on the list. Shah Rukh Khan debuted on the list thanks to the rising value of his stake in IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. The entertainment industry added ₹40,500 crore to the Hurun India Rich List in just one year, with seven new entrants.
 
The Ambani family has become the most valuable family business in the country with ₹25.75 lakh crore. The Bajaj family is second on the list with ₹7.13 lakh crore while the Birla family is third with ₹5.39 lakh crore. The Adani family is valued at ₹15.44 lakh crore in the list but being the first generation, it is not included in the main list. The Adani family tops the list of first-generation families with active second-generation leaders, and Serum’s Poonawala family is second with a turnover of ₹2.37 lakh crore.
