Good news for railway passengers, there will be no delay in online ticket booking, refund will also come immediately

There is a good news for railway passengers. You will not have to wait long to book train tickets. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said that it will soon increase the ticket capacity to ensure that railway passengers booking tickets do not face problems in waiting period. Reports suggest that this process has started and will be over by March 2025. After its completion, train passengers’ tickets will be booked online and they will not have to wait for a long time after clicking on the home page.

The entire process of ticket booking will start instantly and passengers will get tickets within a short time. Apart from this, IRCTC will ensure that passengers do not face the problem of their money being deducted and then tickets not being issued. Earlier, IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sanjay Jain had said about the reason behind waiting for a long time while booking tickets for problems like money deduction, payment failure or waiting time for confirmed tickets.
The CMD had also said that due to low capacity, these processes take a lot of time. This simply means that the booking capacity is less than the number of people who process online ticket booking, due to which passengers have to face trouble. According to the report, currently more than nine lakh tickets are being booked online every day, which includes online bookings done by passengers and agents. More than two crore passengers travel by train every day.

Earlier, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had said that the Railways is upgrading the ticketing system including software and hardware for the convenience of rail passengers. He said that the Indian Railways has upgraded the system after the Union Minister informed about the steps to be taken to upgrade the system in case of record allocation in the Union Budget.
