Lebanon’s Hezbollah has finally admitted that Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah has been killed in an Israeli strike. With this, Hezbollah vowed to continue the fight against Israel. The announcement from Lebanon came shortly after the French Foreign Ministry said that according to its information Nasrallah had died. Nasrallah was killed along with Ali Karaki and other Hezbollah commanders. The Israeli military said Nasrallah was responsible for the murder of numerous Israeli civilians and soldiers and planning thousands of terrorist acts against the Jewish state. The military said the IDF will continue to harm all those who promote and engage in terrorism against Israeli civilians. Nasrallah’s death is the biggest blow to the Iran-backed group in Lebanon.
Israeli military officials said they were on high alert, hoping Nasrallah’s death might change Hezbollah’s direction, though they remained cautious. “We hope this will change Hezbollah’s actions,” Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani told a media briefing. But he said it would still take time to reduce Hezbollah’s capabilities.
