The ICC has blown the bugle for the T20 World Cup 2026. Just as the T20 World Cup 2024 was successfully concluded with 20 teams, on the same lines, 20 teams will be seen playing in the next T20 World Cup as well. After this, the top two teams in the points table of all four groups will get a place in the Super 8. Two groups will also be formed in the Super 8. The top 2 teams in the points table from both the groups of Super 8 will enter the semi-finals and then the final match will be played.

These teams have qualified for T20 World Cup

As hosts, India and Sri Lanka have automatically qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Apart from this, all the eight teams that reached the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 have got automatic qualification. Out of these, India has already qualified as the host. While Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, England, UAE and West Indies teams have directly qualified for the next World Cup. The 9th team is Sri Lanka, which is also a host itself, which will host along with India. Apart from this, the ICC had kept the cut-off on June 30. Whichever team remains in the top 10 in the ICC T20 rankings till this date, will get a chance to play directly in the T20 World Cup 2026.
