‘India is taking a big step towards historic election reforms’, said Amit Shah on One Nation-One Election

The Union Cabinet has taken a big decision on the ‘One Country, One Election’ policy on Wednesday, September 18. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet has decided that this bill will be introduced in Parliament in the next session and after its passage and President’s approval, it will become a law. Statements of BJP leaders have also started coming out regarding this. Home Minister Amit Shah wrote that India is witnessing transformational reforms under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. Today, in this direction, with the acceptance of the recommendations of the high-level committee on one nation, one election by the Union Cabinet, India is taking a big step towards historic election reforms.

He said that this reflects Modiji’s strong will to strengthen our democracy through clean and financially efficient elections and to accelerate economic development through more productive allocation of resources. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that I am very happy today. The Union Cabinet has taken a big decision in the interest of the country today. I appeal to all political parties not to do politics in this and keep national interest above politics.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed this. He wrote on Twitter that political stability is extremely important for a prosperous democracy. Yogi further wrote that the approval given by the Union Cabinet to the One Country, One Election proposal today under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is commendable. This decision will prove to be a ‘milestone’ in ensuring political stability, sustainable development and prosperous democracy in the country. On behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, heartfelt gratitude to the respected Prime Minister for this revolutionary decision! Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote that it is a much awaited and historic step! The approval of the proposal of ‘One Country – One Election’ by the Union Cabinet towards making Indian democracy more strong and effective under the able leadership of Narendra Modi is a welcome decision.

The BJP leader said that ‘One Nation One Election’ will save government money and time spent during elections and it can be used more effectively in development works like education, health and infrastructure.
