India may face a big blow before T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma is injured

Before the T20 World Cup 2024, a bad news is coming for the fans of the Indian cricket team. There are reports of stiffness in the back of Indian team captain Rohit Sharma, due to which his participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup is in danger.

Rohit Sharma was not a part of the playing eleven in the match against KKR in IPL. The star opener, who is currently the second-highest run-scorer for MI in IPL 2024, was included only as an impact player. Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs in 12 balls in the second innings. Kolkata Knight Riders won over Mumbai Indians by 24 runs.

In a post-match interview, veteran spinner Piyush Chawla, Rohit Sharma’s teammate at MI, revealed the reason for the former skipper’s absence. Chawla told that he only had slight stiffness in his back. Therefore, as a precaution, he was made an impact player.

This is not the first time that Rohit Sharma is suffering from back pain. In March this year, India captain Rohit Sharma suffered an injury on the third day of the fifth and final Test of the series against England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed the news during the first session of the third day’s play at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala that Rohit has been diagnosed with back stiffness.

With the T20 World Cup around the corner, fans are hoping that Rohit makes a speedy recovery and ends Team India’s ICC trophy drought.
