Aditi Ashok (46) and Diksha Dagar (138) are ready to participate in the Paris Olympics. Whereas Shubhankar Sharma (197) and Gaganjeet Bhullar (232) also have a good chance of making a place in the games. This will be the third Olympics for Aditi, which will be the highest Olympic participation by any Indian golfer.

This will be the first Olympics for Sharma and Bhullar.

The best performance in the Olympics for India is in the name of Aditi who finished fourth in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Entries for the Olympics are sent by the Indian Golf Association. Qualification for the Olympics is determined by ranking, which is limited to 60 male and the same number of female players through the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). The top 15 players in the rankings can qualify for the Olympics, with a maximum of four golfers from each country participating.

In the women’s category, Aditi has not performed so well so far in 2024 but despite this she remains in the top 50. Diksha, who has been in great form, has finished in the top 10 three times in five starts on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and has finished at 26 or better in two of her starts on the Epson Tour. Diksha has achieved 138th position in the women’s world ranking, which is her best ranking till date. The next two Indian women golfers are Pranavi Urs at 403 and amateur golfer Avani Prashant at 531.

Among Indian men, Sharma is the only Indian golfer in the top 200 after finishing tied seventh at the Singapore Classic and tied 16th at the Dubai Desert Classic. Bhullar’s best finish in 2024 was 43rd on the Asian Tour but he also won the Chandigarh Open on the Indian Tour. This was their second win in India in four months. After Sharma and Bhullar, Veer Ahlawat is ranked 380 and Karandeep Kochhar is ranked 434.
