On Monday, the Indian men’s and women’s 4×400 meters relay teams qualified for the Paris Olympics by finishing second in the second round heats at the World Athletics Relays. The quartet of Rupal Chowdhary, M R Poovamma, Jyothika Sri Dandi and Shubha Venkatesan took three minutes 29. By taking a time of 35 seconds, he secured second place behind Jamaica (3:28.54) in the first heat and booked his ticket to Paris.
