India’s Consul General in New York Binay Shrikant Pradhan has said that the T20 World Cup in America will be a historic tournament, about which there is a lot of enthusiasm among the Indian-Americans as well as the Indian-American people and it will play an important role in bringing cricket to the mainstream in the country. Pradhan said, “For the first time, the Cricket World Cup is being played on American soil. There is a lot of enthusiasm about it. Not only among the Indian-Americans but also among the people of America. He said that American Congress members, senators, public representatives, all are talking about it. The T20 World Cup will be played from June 2 to 29 in America and the West Indies.

The Indian cricket team will begin its campaign against Ireland on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium here. The match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held here on June 9. Pradhan said, “I am sure that this will be a historic event. Team India represents India in many ways. Everyone is very excited about it. We are eager to welcome them and will also encourage them.” He said, “Indian team will play against the US team for the first time. This will be a big moment.” Regarding the India-Pakistan match, he said, “There is a lot of excitement about it. Many famous personalities will come to watch it.
