The Israeli army released a picture in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ and announced that military chief Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi is approving additional attacks from the military headquarters in Tel Aviv. This is one of the deadliest air strikes in the battle against Hezbollah that has been going on for the past one year. Halevi and other Israeli leaders have promised to take even tougher action against Hezbollah in the coming days.
While Israel was carrying out the attacks, Israeli officials reported air raid sirens sounding in northern Israel, warning of impending rocket attacks from Lebanon. On Monday, Israel had appealed to residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes. Israel claimed that Hezbollah had stored weapons there and warned of devastating attacks. Meanwhile, Lebanese officials said that 100 people were killed in Israeli air strikes. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that more than 400 people were injured in attacks in southern Lebanon.
