There has been an increase in smuggling incidents in Jammu and Kashmir for the last several years. And let me tell you that these incidents are not happening on the Line of Control with Pakistan but on the borders of Jammu. After the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, we have seen many changes in the state. Where earlier the youth were trapped in stone pelting and terrorist activities by people with terrorist ideology, such activities have now reduced by a few percent, but along with this, Jammu and Kashmir is also facing some other problems.
On the basis of some reports, it is being said that the borders of Jammu have become a hub of drug smuggling. If we talk about who are the people smuggling across the border! So according to some data, women are now being hired for this work. The number of women involved in smuggling of drugs and other narcotics has increased. Women are also being included in smuggling because they are less suspected.

Drug smuggling increased on the borders of Jammu region more than on LoC
According to officials, new facts have come to light after analyzing the rapid increase in the influx of drugs in Jammu and Kashmir and their use in raising funds to carry out attacks on security forces and civilians. Drugs have been one of the major contributors to the increase in high-intensity terrorist attacks in the Union Territory in the last three years and curbing this threat has been a major challenge for the security establishment. According to a report published in the Indian Express, the borders with the Jammu region play a major role in drug smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir as compared to the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir and the deployment of women for drug smuggling is increasing. This information was given to the Indian Express by security officials of the Union Territory.

Smuggling incidents in Jammu and Kashmir beyond the Line of Control increased by 30 percent in five years
If the statements of the officials are to be believed, the figures suggest that drug consumption in Kashmir has seen a 30 per cent rise in the last five years, yet despite several cases being registered, only a few smugglers have been arrested. A source said that a drug dealer in Jammu and Kashmir earns up to Rs 3 lakh in cash on an average. Areas like Tattapani and Abbaspur near the Line of Control in Poonch, along the Chenab river in Jammu and Pangdour and Ghagwal near Samba are among the areas in the Jammu belt where the highest drug smuggling in Jammu and Kashmir takes place. In the Kashmir Valley, the highest drug smuggling took place in the Baramulla and Kupwara areas, especially in areas close to the Shamshabari Ridge.
