Omar Abdullah said that we all know the situation of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir. There was fraud in the recruitment process and the youth did not get jobs. We are making broad promises to the youth and are going to solve the issue of unemployment.

The National Conference (NC) on Monday released its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The document was released by party vice-president Omar Abdullah during a press conference in the presence of senior leaders including members of the manifesto committee. During this, he said that this is not just an election document. When everyone reads it, they will understand that it is a complete governance agenda. This is a five-year roadmap and implementing it will bring change in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier also many people talked about change, but we only got betrayal.

Omar Abdullah said that we all know the unemployment situation in Jammu and Kashmir. There was fraud in the recruitment process and the youth did not get jobs. We are making comprehensive promises to the youth and are going to address the unemployment issue. He further said that we will also address the issue of water and electricity and will give free electricity up to 200 units. Some people will promise more than this but it is not beneficial as they are not going to be in power in the future. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chief spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq said that our guarantee is to restore normalcy. We will try to improve the atmosphere for talks between India and Pakistan. We will release all the political leaders and youth who are in custody. We will also try to help those whose passport verification is pending.

Restoration of Article 370 and statehood of Jammu and Kashmir along with implementation of autonomy resolution passed by the then assembly in 2000 are among the 12 guarantees declared by the National Conference in its manifesto for the upcoming elections. Releasing the manifesto, NC vice-president Omar Abdullah said the party was making only those promises that it could fulfil. He described the manifesto as NC’s vision document and a roadmap for governance. The manifesto makes 12 broad promises, including the attempt to achieve full implementation of autonomy resolution passed by the Jammu and Kashmir assembly in 2000. “We strive to restore (Articles) 370-35A and statehood as it had before August 5, 2019,” the NC document said.
