Jio tops with AGR of Rs 25,331 crore, Airtel fastest growth

New Delhi. Telecom company Reliance Jio has recorded the highest adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of Rs 25,330.97 crore in the March 2024 quarter. The government calculates spectrum and license fees based on AGR. A report by telecom regulator TRAI said on Thursday that Bharti Airtel saw the fastest growth in its AGR in the March 2024 quarter. Reliance Jio’s AGR grew 10.21 per cent during the March quarter from Rs 22,985 crore in the same period a year ago.

According to a report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Airtel’s AGR grew 13.25 per cent to Rs 20,951.91 crore in the March 2024 quarter from Rs 15,500.36 crore in the same period a year ago. Loss-making Vodafone Idea reported a marginal 2.22 per cent year-on-year rise in AGR to Rs 7,370.75 crore from Rs 7,210.63 crore. Public sector BSNL and MTNL reported a decline of 4.41 per cent and 13.78 per cent respectively in AGR.

Overall, the gross revenue of telecom service providers grew 3.01 per cent year-on-year to Rs 87,926 crore and adjusted gross revenue grew 9.25 per cent in the March 2024 quarter. According to the telecom regulator, government collections from service providers in the form of license fee (LF) and spectrum usage charges (SUC) grew more than 10 per cent year-on-year to Rs 6,506 crore.
