Justice Chandrachud meets Chief Justice of Nepal Biswambhar Prasad Shrestha

Kathmandu. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud met his Nepalese counterpart Biswambhar Prasad Shrestha here on Saturday and discussed ways of cooperation between the apex courts of the two neighboring countries. Supreme Court spokesperson Vedprasad Upreti said that the two Chief Justices discussed possible cooperation and exchange between the top courts of Nepal and India. Justice Shrestha hosted a dinner in honor of Chief Justice Chandrachud. Earlier, Chief Justice Chandrachud visited Pashupatinath temple here.

Justice Chandrachud is here on a three-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Chief Justice of Nepal (CJN) Biswambhar Prasad Shrestha. Earlier on Saturday, Chief Justice Chandrachud, while addressing a national seminar on juvenile justice, highlighted the complex relationship between children and the complex social systems through which those children have to navigate. He pointed out that children enter the world with a blank mind, yet their fragility and vulnerability make them vulnerable to a myriad of factors that can lead them astray, such as economic hardship, parental negligence and peer pressure.

He said, “When discussing juvenile justice, we need to recognize the vulnerabilities and unique needs of children embroiled in legal disputes and ensure that our justice systems promote empathy, rehabilitation and opportunities for reintegration into society.” Adapt to.
