K Armstrong Murder Case. Mayawati reached to pay tribute to Armstrong, demanded to hand over the investigation of the case to CBI

Chennai. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into the murder of her party’s Tamil Nadu unit president K Armstrong, who was killed here on Friday. Mayawati claimed that those arrested so far in the case are not the real culprits and urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to hand over the investigation to the central agency so that justice can be delivered.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati paid tributes to Armstrong here and offered floral tributes to the 52-year-old leader’s mortal remains at a private school in the city’s Perambur. The BSP chief said the manner in which he was killed by a group of assailants late Friday evening shows that there is “no thing called law and order” in the state. Mayawati said Stalin should ensure justice for Armstrong and hand over the probe to the CBI.

He said, “The way he was murdered shows that there is no such thing as law and order in Tamil Nadu. The real culprits who killed him have not been caught yet.” He said, “The real culprits have not been caught yet. The investigation should be handed over to the CBI. We do not expect the state government to ensure justice, so the case should be handed over to the CBI immediately.”

The BSP leader said fear has spread among Dalits across the state after Armstrong’s murder and urged the chief minister to ensure their safety. He said the BSP has taken the matter seriously, but party workers should not take the law into their own hands.
