The US presidential election is becoming more interesting with time. After Biden withdrew, the Democrats bet on Vice President Kamala Harris to challenge Trump. But now just before the election, Vice President Kamala Harris has suffered a major setback. Three recent surveys show her race for the presidency against former US President Donald Trump slowing down a bit. Two surveys conducted in the important swing state of Pennsylvania show that Trump has a slight lead over Harris, while a third national survey also shows her trailing behind the former president.

The current survey conducted in the state of Pennsylvania is one of the swing states in the United States entitled to 19 electoral votes. The Cygnal and Emerson College’s Cygnal survey shows that Trump is ahead. According to the Cygnal survey conducted among 800 likely voters on August 14 and 15, Trump is ahead of Harris by one point, 44-43%. The survey puts independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 5 percent, Trump is up 2 percent since the last Cygnal poll in July and Kennedy is down 4 percent.

Meanwhile, an Emerson College poll of 1,000 likely voters in Pennsylvania conducted for RealClearPennsylvania on August 13-14 also found Trump ahead by 1 point with 49 percent of the vote compared to Harris’ 48 percent. When undecided voters’ inclination toward a candidate was taken into account, Trump’s lead grew to 51 percent compared to Harris’ 49 percent. When Kennedy was included in the survey, Harris and Trump were tied at 47 percent, while the independent candidate captured 3 percent.
