The decision of the Congress is being considered important amid the ongoing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as Chib has been the head of the Youth Congress unit. He was also part of the Congress manifesto committee for the Jammu and Kashmir elections. Earlier this month, Uday was also seen participating in the road show of National Congress candidate Ajay Kumar Sadhotra. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra filed his nomination papers for the Jammu North assembly seat.
