Defending KL Rahul, who has often been criticized for his inconsistency in his career, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said that he has been given a ‘clear message’ which will help him take his career forward in Test cricket. Rahul scored a century against South Africa in Centurion in 2023 and scored 86 runs against England in Hyderabad this year. However, for two years before this, he could score only one half-century in 12 innings.
Rohit said before the Test against Bangladesh, “You know what KL has, everyone knows. We have given him a clear message that we want him to play all the matches. We want his best performance. It is also our responsibility to get the best performance from him.”
He said, “He scored a century against South Africa and scored above 80 in the first Test in Hyderabad. After that he could not play due to injury but hopefully he will maintain that rhythm. ” Rohit said, “He plays both spin and fast bowling very well.
