Doctors across the country are protesting for their safety and demanding justice for the victim intern doctor who was brutally raped and murdered in Kolkata. Political parties are busy in blame game despite the sensitivity of the case. While BJP is accusing the ruling Trinamool Congress of protecting the real culprits, Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has come out in defence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Akhilesh Yadav said that Mamata Banerjee herself is a woman and understands the pain of a woman. She has taken action as per the demand. The government has also decided to get the case investigated by the CBI or any other institution. But at the same time, the people of the Bharatiya Janata Party should not do politics.” He said that the BJP should not take political advantage of the incidents. When asked about the rape-murder incident that took place at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, he said, “The doctors on strike should get justice. What happened to the trainee doctor there was barbaric.”
RJD MP Manoj Jha said that this incident is very unfortunate. Doctors are protesting against this incident across the country. The CBI is investigating the incident and the culprits should get strict punishment. I urge the central government not to delay providing security to doctors, which is one of the demands raised by the doctors. Mayawati on Saturday urged political parties to “rise above party politics” over the alleged rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata. Mayawati posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and said, “The whole country is worried and angry over the incident of rape and murder of a female doctor in Bengal, yet the Trinamool Congress government is trying to give it a religious and political color in its defense, while the opposition is also no less in this matter. In such a situation, it is important to worry about how the culprits get strict punishment and the victim’s family gets justice. “

Everyone needs to be serious about their pain and demand for justice for the incident.” The BSP leader said, “The agitation of doctors and medical students regarding this incident is right in its place and is also supported, but during this time, if attention is also paid to the treatment of poor patients, then it will be appropriate. Along with this, the government should also take special care of the safety and respect of hospitals and doctors.
