Bhopal. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh has said that in 300-400 years, ideas changed history, but after the nineties, ‘technology’ changed the world. Harivansh was addressing the launch and discussion program of the book ‘Harivansh: Journalism’s Folk Religion’ published on him at Sapre Museum today. The book has been published by Pralek Prakashan. The publisher of the book, Jitendra Patro, was also present at the launch ceremony.

Addressing the function, Harivansh said that mainstream journalism has gone away from its ideals. Addressing the function, ‘Navneet’ editor Vishwanath Sachdev said that Harivansh’s journalism is the journalism of public duty. The duty of journalism is to worry about the public. During the independence era, journalism, especially Hindi journalism, gave a direction to the society, but gradually it deviated from its objectives. Ever since the visual medium has come, the form of journalism has changed. Vishwanath Sachdev said that a person like Harivansh leaving journalism and going into politics may be a big achievement for politics, but it is a big loss for journalism.
The editor of the book, Kripashankar Chaubey, said that writing is a very easy task, but ‘editing’ is a complex and challenging task. He said that it is because of people like Vishwanath Sachdev and Harivansh ji that the folk religion of journalism has survived today. Founder Director of Sapre Museum, Vijaydatt Shridhar said that Harivansh ji’s book is a heritage of journalism and with its launch, it was also intended that journalism students should have a dialogue with personalities like Vishwanath ji, Harivansh ji and Kripashankar Chaubey, so that they can benefit from their experiences.

In the second phase of the programme, journalism students asked the three eminent personalities questions about the current scenario of journalism. In the beginning, Dr. Shivkumar Awasthi, Dr. Ratnesh, Arvind Shridhar welcomed the guests on behalf of the museum. Media teacher Lal Bahadur Ojha conducted the programme and senior TV journalist Rajesh Badal expressed his gratitude.
