Manoj Sinha visited the Amarnath Yatra base camp in Jammu on Thursday night and reviewed the arrangements made for the pilgrimage. Amid a multi-layered security cover, the first batch of Amarnath pilgrims will leave Jammu for two base camps in Kashmir on Friday, marking the beginning of this year’s pilgrimage.

Sinha was accompanied by Director General of Police (DGP) R.R. Swain and top civil and security officials. Sinha visited the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar and chaired a meeting to review the arrangements.

The Lt Governor met the pilgrims and interacted with them. Later, he held a meeting with the officials and reviewed the steps taken for the comfortable stay of the pilgrims, officials said.
