Fadnavis emphasised that important decisions benefiting the Maratha community were taken either during his tenure or that of CM Shinde, and criticised the deliberate creation of a contrary narrative.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has strongly countered the allegations of Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange and announced that he will resign from politics if Chief Minister Eknath Shinde confirms that he is obstructing the Maratha reservation process. Jarange, who is a staunch critic of Fadnavis, has consistently accused the senior BJP leader of being the major hurdle in the Maratha community’s quest for reservation. Addressing a press conference, Fadnavis made sarcastic remarks about Jarange’s ‘special affection’ towards him and said that if Chief Minister Eknath Shinde says that my presence is an obstacle in reaching a decision regarding Maratha reservation, he will tender his resignation and quit politics.
Fadnavis emphasised that important decisions benefiting the Maratha community were taken either during his tenure or during CM Shinde’s tenure, and criticised the deliberate creation of a contrary narrative. He said that we should not forget that the chief minister is the head of the state and is responsible for taking all decisions. Decisions benefiting the Maratha community were taken either during my tenure as chief minister or during the tenure of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam on Monday dubbed BJP leader and Maharashtra Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Ravindra Chavan as a “useless minister” over the poor condition of the Mumbai-Goa highway. Hitting back, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis questioned whether Ramdas’ comments were in line with the principles of the Mahayuti alliance. Speaking to reporters in Thane, former minister Ramdas Kadam took a dig at Chavan over the incomplete work on the Mumbai-Goa highway passing through coastal districts of Maharashtra.
