Addressing a press conference here, Pawar also said it is the moral responsibility of the major opposition parties in Maharashtra to protect the interests of smaller allies in the state assembly elections, who were part of the alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Pune. Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said that his party, Congress and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) will contest the Maharashtra assembly elections to be held in October this year together. Addressing a press conference here, Pawar also said that it is the moral responsibility of the major opposition parties in Maharashtra to protect the interests of smaller allies in the state assembly elections, who were part of the alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) are the constituents of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Pawar said that the opposition will collectively put forward its stand before the people of Maharashtra in the elections. Pawar said that there is a need for change in the state and it is the moral responsibility of the opposition alliance to fulfill it. He said, just as Arjun’s target (in Mahabharata) was the eye of the fish, in the same way our eyes are fixed on the elections of Maharashtra. Congress, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) and Shiv Sena (UBT) will contest the assembly elections together. Pawar said that talks on seat sharing in the state have not started yet, but will start soon.
