Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala continued to top the Olympic Selection Trials (OST) for rifle and pistol here on Saturday after posting strong scores in the qualification rounds of their events. Anish topped the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event with a score of 587 points.

Olympian shooters Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala remained on top with strong scores in the qualification rounds of their events at the Olympic Selection Trials (OST) for rifle and pistol here on Saturday. Anish topped the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event with a score of 587 points while Manu finished third in the women’s 25m pistol event with 585 points. The final will be held on Sunday in which the five shooters who qualify will have to score important podium points.

In the women’s pistol event, Rhythm Sangwan topped with 586 points while Simranpreet Kaur Brar finished second by beating Manu with 585 points. Isha Singh (579) stood fourth and Abhidanya Ashok Patil (575) stood fifth. This means that no matter how the final turns out, Manu will enter the fourth trial with a lead of at least four points over her nearest rival.

There will be a tough competition between Isha, Rhythm and Simranpreet for the second place. Bhanwala also has a lead of two points over his nearest rival. There will be a tough competition for the second place between Vijayveer Sidhu and Bhavesh Shekhawat.
