Meeting in US hotel, promise of release of terrorist Bhullar, Khalistani funding of Rs 134 crore, what big trouble is Kejriwal in now?

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in a new and bigger trouble. LG Vinay Saxena has recommended a terror investigation. Arvind Kejriwal has been accused of taking funds from terrorist organization Sikh for Justice. The entire allegation is of taking funds of 16 million US dollars. Recommending NIA investigation against an Indian political party is a big event in itself. The reason is that there is talk of remission of punishment if someone joins the government with a fund of 16 million dollars from a banned terrorist organization. You will remember Sikh for Justice terrorist Guruwatpant Singh Pannu, whose videos of jackal-mongering often come out. In which he is sometimes seen threatening India and sometimes talking about support for Khalistan. Pannu had made a video in which she claimed that she had met Arvind Kejriwal during his visit to America and she was given 16 million dollars i.e. Rs 134 crore by Sikh for Justice. This claim was made on behalf of Pannun. In this video, Pannu had used some footage in which Arvind Kejriwal was seen meeting with some people of the Sikh community in a hotel in America. In that footage, Munish Raizada was seen sitting next to Arvind Kejriwal. Raizada, a doctor by profession, had also participated in the movement with Anna Hazare.

What is the allegation of ‘Khalistani funding’ against Arvind Kejriwal?

The LG’s complaint cites a video purportedly showing Sikh for Justice founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, claiming that AAP received $16 million from Khalistani groups between 2014 and 2022. Got huge funding. It further alleges that in 2014, Arvind Kejriwal had attended a secret meeting with pro-Khalistani Sikhs at Gurudwara Richmond Hills in New York. During this meeting, Kejriwal reportedly promised to facilitate the release of Devender Pal Bhullar, a convicted terrorist, in exchange for financial support to AAP from Khalistani factions.

The fast was ended after receiving the letter from Kejriwal

The complaint includes a letter written by Arvind Kejriwal to Iqbal Singh in which the AAP leader has reportedly said that his government is sympathetic to the issue and will take all necessary steps to ensure complete justice. Saxena said in the letter that it further mentions that the Delhi government has already recommended the release of Professor Bhullar to the President and will work on other issues including formation of SIT etc. According to news reports at the time, Iqbal Singh was on a fast at Jantar Mantar demanding written assurance for the release of Bhullar. He ended the fast after receiving the letter from Kejriwal.

closed door meeting

The complaint also points to some old social media posts made by a former AAP worker on Facebook. He had shared a photo of Kejriwal with Sikh leaders at the Richmond Hill Gurdwara in 2014. Dr Munish Kumar Raizada’s tweet claimed that apart from public meetings, Kejriwal held closed-door meetings. According to the complainant, discussion with pro-Khalistan Sikh leaders in the Gurudwara. There is a need for investigation including forensic examination of the electronic evidence given by the complainant,” Saxena has said. The letter said the complaint has been made against a chief minister and pertains to political funding received from a banned terrorist organisation.
