Mixing human waste in food items is disgusting, all this is not acceptable: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to take strict action against those who adulterate food items with human waste/dirty things. Taking cognizance of such incidents that have taken place in various parts of the country, in a high-level meeting on Tuesday, 24 September, the Chief Minister has also given instructions for thorough investigation, verification etc. of all the hotels/dhabas/restaurants etc. related establishments in the state. Along with this, he also gave instructions to amend the rules as per the need while ensuring the health safety of the general public.
The main guidelines given by the Chief Minister in the important meeting are as follows:-
– In recent times, incidents of adulteration of food items like juice, dal and roti with human waste/inedible/filthy things have been seen in various parts of the country. Such incidents are horrific and have an adverse effect on the health of the common man. Such nefarious attempts cannot be accepted at all. Concrete arrangements are necessary to prevent such incidents in Uttar Pradesh.

– It is necessary to inspect such dhabas/restaurants and other food establishments. By running a state-wide intensive campaign, verification of all the employees working there including the operators of these establishments should be done. This action should be completed quickly by a joint team of Food Safety and Drug Administration, Police and Local Administration.
– The name and address of the operator, proprietor, manager etc. should be prominently displayed at food establishments. In this regard, the Food Safety and Standards Act should also be amended as per the need.
– There should be CCTV arrangements in food establishments like Dhaba/Hotels/Restaurants etc. Not only the place where customers sit but other parts of the establishment should also be covered with CCTV. It should be ensured that every establishment operator will keep the CCTV feed safe and make it available to the police/local administration if required.
– There should be cleanliness at food centers. It should be ensured that the concerned person must use mask/gloves while preparing and serving food items, there should be no negligence in this.
– There cannot be any kind of tampering with the health interests of the general public. Strict action should be taken against those who try to do so. Rules related to making, selling food items or other related activities should be made more stringent keeping in mind practicality. Immediate action should be taken on violation of rules.
