PM Modi also paid tributes at the Valivade-Kolhapur memorial and the memorial of the Battle of Monte Cassino in Warsaw. Modi arrived here on the first leg of his two-nation visit after which he will also visit Ukraine.

Ahead of his visit to Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India supports peace in the troubled region and reiterated that “this is not the era of war” and any conflict should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue. “For decades, India’s policy was to keep distance from all countries. However, today’s India’s policy is to stay close to all countries,” PM Modi said.
